To work as a radiologic technologist in Canada, you must obtain certification from the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists, the national professional association and certifying body for MRTs across Canada .

CAMRT certification is based on entry-to-practice requirements, which apply to both Canadian graduates and internationally educated professionals. The process typically includes:

• Credential and qualification assessment
• Verification of clinical education and competencies
• Eligibility approval for the certification exam
• Passing the CAMRT National Certification Exam

For internationally educated medical radiation technologists (IEMRTs), an assessment process is required before exam eligibility, which evaluates:

In some provinces, candidates must first apply to a provincial regulatory authority before proceeding with CAMRT assessment .
